SAN ANTONIO, TX — On July 22, 2014 Dallas, TX based developer Meridian Realty Advisors broke ground on their sixth project undertaken with Pi Architects. The Heights at Shavano Park adds to a portfolio that spans Texas and the southwest region.
Set on 4.6 acres at 3220 North Loop 1604 West in the city of Shavano Park, the new 57,000 sf community will provide 40 assisted living and 44 memory care beds to this booming suburb of San Antonio.
Regarding the area, David K. Ronck, President of Meridian Realty, states: “We feel like we have the ideal site for a state of the art Assisted Living/Memory Care com- munity in Northwest San Antonio. It is ground zero for one of San Antonio’s high- est growth areas around Loop 1604. We are thrilled to be in the Shavano Park market and feel like the project will have a very positive impact on housing seniors in the area.”
Members of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce spoke at the event, citing that 135 new residents move to San Antonio each day, outpacing famously fast-growing cities like Austin.
Residents at The Heights will be able to take advantage of Pi Architects innovative concepts in small-house memory care, where a 16-22 resident household is joined to a larger community. Says Nick Bruhn of Pi Architects: “This allows for focused, individual care that memory support requires. Aging residents will be able to remain within the home they’ve grown to love and the community that they depend on, thanks to integrated memory support households.”
